The 2019 China (Chongqing) High-end Forum on Intelligent Construction and Construction Industry Big Data Application  kicked off on the afternoon of August 26, on which representatives from Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Stanford University, experts and scholars from Chongqing and other cities, as well as enterprise representatives,  exchanged their insights and made suggestions for the high-quality development of Chongqing’s construction industry.

Calvin Kam, a professor from Stanford University in the United States, said that BIM technology has played an active role in building smart cities in recent years. In the process of utilizing the new technology, all parties should pay attention to making BIM data more effective and accurate to provide information and improving the quality control level of projects.

Li Hongfei, an expert of Tencent Cloud, said that the Smart Building Operating System co-developed by Tencent and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development i s China’s first Internet platform for the construction industry.

Wu Zhiqiang, an academician of CAE, said that intellectualization will give birth to new construction and management models for urban development. In the days to come, such technologies as AI, 3D printing, and VR will be applied on a large scale in architecture, planning, design, construction, and operation. We will witness more efficient, reliable, green and low-carbon urban infrastructure by facilitating green and intelligent development and solve a series of problems such as pollution and congestion in urban development through dynamic monitoring of bridges, roads, and other facilities.
