Three Countries of Honor Showcasing at Smart China Expo 2019

The 2019 Smart China Expo will kick off on August 26. This year’s SCE will be more international, with Singapore, the UK, and Italy serving as guests of honor. The Section of National Exhibitions and the theme exhibition areas will be set up, and the SCE will demonstrate the remarkable achievements contributed by the guests of honor in the intelligence industry.

Delegations

Singapore was the guest of honor of the previous SCE, and it will serve as the guest of honor againMinister of Manpower Josephine Teo will lead the personnel of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) to attend the expo. Meanwhile, famous companies such as Singapore Telecommunications Limited, SKYLAB, STEngineering, Fooyo, and Veritag will visit Chongqing again to strengthen cooperation with enterprises in Chongqing.

Graham Stuart, Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade will lead a business delegation to attend the expo. This will be the largest delegation visiting southwestern China in history. The UK delegation consists of nearly 200 people from more than 40 enterprises from industries like information technology, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, transportation, cultural creativity, and educational technology. 

Those enterprises include innovative startups and also noted multinationals. Some of the contributors areChapman Taylor, the official design partner of the UK’s national exhibition at SCE, and Sage and Micro Focus, partners of the Department for International Trade at SCE. Many well-known British enterprises and institutions such as the British Telecom, the British Standards Institution, the Satellite Applications Catapult, McLaren, and Zaha Hadid Architects will also be represented.

In the wake of the rapid development of new-generation information technology industries such as artificial intelligence, 5G communication, big data, and cloud computing, the automobile industry are set to enter the era of big data and mobile Internet. They promise to deliver smart transportation experiences which are flexible, integrated, safe, economical, and efficient. This year, professional automobile teams from Italy, including research institutes, will come to Chongqing to participate in the SCE.

Pavillion

Compared with the area of last year, the Singaporean exhibition hall is two times larger, nearly the size of 12 tennis courts. High-tech and intelligent technologies and products will be on display here, such as financial technology, urban solutions, artificial intelligence, data analysis and transportation, and logistics. For example, Fooyo, a company devoted to smart tourism solutions, provides world-leading smart solutions for tourism destinations. Committed to food safety and security, Veritag has a good understanding of the Chinese market, and develops advanced QR technologies, connects with blockchains and strategic partners to establish an ideal food traceability solution. SKYLAB supplies enterprises with access across devices and controllers integrated with operational control, real-time performance analysis, an advanced network, and data logistics cloud.


British pavilion`s plan


In the theme of “Special Innovation in the UK,” the UK pavilion will fully demonstrate its intelligent industries with participation from more than 30 outstanding British enterprises.

The most conspicuous object inside the Exhibition Hall is a continually swinging giant robotic arm. It is the Equator comparator, a flexible and precise measuring system created by a British firm Renishaw. This is the first time the product has been on display in western China.

Meanwhile, the British Library will bring the “Virtual City,” a new real-time 3D environment virtual reality (VR) experience into the Britain Pavilion. With traditional materials and cutting-edge digital technologies, Michael Magruder, Residency Artist from the British Library, reorganized the city map images and real-time visitors data of Chongqing and London in the digital collections of the British Library, creating a virtual urban landscape in the information era, which highlights the unlimited creative potential of archives and collections.

Many famous Italian enterprises will bring advanced intelligent products to Chongqing citizens. Expect to see an AW109 helicopter displayed by Leonardo Helicopters, a Ferrari Portofino and a Maserati Levante displayed by Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo, and the dealer CTF Automobile (China) Investment Co., Ltd.; as well as the intelligent factory model presented by ST Microelectronics, a leading enterprise in integrated circuits in the fields of power, cars, IoT and AI.

Also demonstrated are the innovative devices for automotive applications from by B810 Group, an enterprise which designs and implements integrated electronic systems used in the automotive, city guidance and smart mobile fields, and a motorcycle displayed by MV Agusta, a historic brand of Italian motorcycles, which recently signed a cooperative agreement with Loncin Group.

Contests

In terms of competition, Singapore will participate in the Sino-Singapore Industrial Innovation Application Competition. In terms of cooperation and exchange, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) will co-host Singapore-Chongqing Future Development Trend of Service 4.0 Summit Forum, hold a press conference, sign 11 memoranda of understanding, and announce the winners of the Sino-Singapore Industrial Innovation Application Competition.

The UK delegation will hold the first Sino-UK Intelligence Industrial Cooperative Forum on Intelligent Energy in the Future, focusing on cutting-edge technologies in big data and artificial intelligence. On the forum, the UK and China will share their reflections and innovative practices on developing smart cities. They will discuss opportunities and challenges which they face when accelerating smart city development with artificial intelligence and discuss the likelihood of cooperation in areas including future city design, construction of smart ecology and applications of artificial intelligence.

There will be one-on-one business matching for Chinese and UK companies presented to help them find potential business partners. Besides, the fifth UK Department for International Trade (DIT) FinTech Awards will be launched on the forum to support tech companies to set up subsidiaries in the UK.

UK DIT will issue the Sino-UK AI Report to improve cooperation between China and the UK in this area. Also, new products will be released, and signing ceremonies will be held about including cloud services, software design, smart finance, blockchain, big data, technology education, urban planning, and architectural design.

One of the biggest surprises brought by the Italian delegation is the first Sino-Italian Big Data in Automotive Industry and Smart Traffic Management Development Summit.

 The summit focuses on big data in the automotive industry and smart traffic management with the theme of “Digital Technology Connects Areas Within Thousands of Miles with Smart Traffic Everywhere.” Relevant Chinese and Italian leaders, professional research institutes, experts from colleges and executives of connected enterprises, including vehicle factories, electric vehicle charging station companies and rideshare companies, will present at the summit to talk about the future of automobile and transportation industry.

At the occasion, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute is going to announce strategic cooperation with Università Degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Italy and CSI Piedmont Consortium for Information System, enhancing cooperation and exchange to advance practical cooperation in all aspects.
