The Sensors and IoT Industry Summit of Smart China Expo 2019 Held

On August 24, the Sensors and IoT Industry Summit of Smart China Expo in 2019 was held in Beibei, Chongqing. Several hundred leaders and experts from governments, enterprises, schools, and research institutions in Beibei shared development opportunities for the sensor industry and discussed the cooperation plan in the era of IoT. The distinctive base for the sensor industry of Chongqing was unveiled in Beibei.

The attendees included Li Mingqing, the Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, You Xianyong, Vice Secretary-general of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Zhao Gang, Chief Engineer of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Li Bin, Deputy Director of Chongqing Big Data Application and Development Administration, as well as Zhou Xu, He Qing, Dong Lun and Chen Dechuan, the leaders of Beibei District.

Themed as “Smart Technology, Inspirations from IoT and Chips”, the summit was hosted by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, People’s Government of Beibei District, Sensors and IoT Industry Association (SIA), and West China Branch of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). Activities included the opening and signing ceremonies, the keynote report and speech and the roundtable dialogue.

During the summit, the opening ceremony for the distinctive base for the sensor industry of Chongqing, and the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation among sensor enterprises were held. The strategic cooperation framework contract was signed by Beibei District and SIA, Lierda Science & Technology Group Co., Ltd., Xi’an Chinastar M&C Limited, Semeatech Inc (Shanghai), WYSEngine Information System Limited (Shanghai) as well as Shanghai Aorui Technology Limited. They have made preliminary decisions about the ecological construction and project cooperation of the future industries.

During the keynote report, the keynote speeches involving new international and domestic sensors and the trend of IoT, as well as sensors and the development of IoT smart sensor technology were delivered by Yang Xueshan, former Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology and Honorary Chairman of SIA, Shen Liping, former Deputy Chief Designer of China Manned Space Flight Project and Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), Jiao Jiwei, Vice President of R&D of National Intelligent Sensors Innovation Center, Shi Denian, Deputy Chief Designer of CAICT, Guo Yuansheng, Deputy Director of Central Science and Technology Committee of Jiu San Society and Vice Chairman of SIA.

For the period of keynote speeches, speakers included Wu Peng, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of China Silian Instrument Group Co. LTD. and Chairman of Chongqing Chuanyi Automation Co. LTD., Zhu Cheng, President of the Wireless Product Development Department of Huawei, Li Jingang, General Manager of Smart Sensing Industry Center of China Mobile IoT Ltd., Qiao Huijun, Founder and CEO of Aplus Labs. They gave insights into various vital topics, including the development and new orientation of the smart sensor industry, the crucial relations between IoT and intelligent manufacturing, and the shift to industrialization.

In the roundtable dialogue bout “Smart Sensing and IoT Applications ”, an in-depth discussion about the features of sensor technology, IoT’s applications in such fields as smart manufacturing and smart home was set up among Gu Rongxiang, General Manager of Xi’an Chinastar M&C Limited, Liu Jiafeng, Chief Expert of Smart Manufacturing Center of TCL, Yang Jing, Deputy Director of the Sensor Center of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation Chongqing (CETCCQ), Wang Yong, General Manager and Co-founder of Wind-AI Space and Xiao Chen, Chief Investment Officer of Red Star Macalline Group Corporation Ltd.

It is understood that as the detector, responder and data source of the next-generation information technology such as IoT, big data, AI, and smart manufacturing, sensors have become the key foundation and important engine for promoting economic transformation and upgrading as well as high-quality development. In order to implement the national and municipal strategies such as the integration of manufacturing and Internet, and the Big Data Intelligence, Beibei District has formulated the Beibei District Sensor Industry Development Plan (2020-2025) to accelerate the cultivation of the sensor industry innovation ecosystem and to strengthen the support for competitive industries such as instrumentation, smart equipment and new display.

In the future, relying on the city-level distinctive sensor industry base, Beibei District will continue to explore sensors and IoT to promote the development of big data intelligence industry from the perspective of innovative development, empowering the economy and enriching life.
