Chongqing – Smart China Expo 2019 kicked off on August 26 at Chongqing International Expo Center. During the big event, a 5G network covers the whole expo center, letting visitors experience a super-fast network and more efficient digital life. Many scenic spots populate their 5G network with virtual reality (VR) equipment to present a vibrant scene within the headset.

At the exhibition hall of China Unicom, there is an area circled by a circular steel frame. The toroidal steel frame is tilted at about 60 degrees, and dozens of cameras are distributed on the steel frame, all aligned to the center position.

The stereo photos will be presented with QR code
This device uses 5G technology, which can quickly send and compile the individual high definition photographs for processing. Afterward, the server will present the scene as a gif and generate a QR code. The whole process will be completed within a minute. Participants can scan the QR code to see the stereo photos they have just taken.
Remote Control a Real Car
Smart China Expo 2019 introduces 5G, regarding Life Led by 5G as one of the themes. Also, it presents the application of 5G in government, manufacturing, transportation, education, medical, media, and other fields.
Many exhibition booths have set up the smart city, smart industry, smart home, and some application experience projects with 5G in which visitors can participate.
The operator’s seat which can control the long-distance car
The long-distance driving experience with the 5G network is an exciting project of China Telecom. It’s a setup similar to a racing simulation game, with a realistic driving frame and seat which you sit to control the steering wheel, throttle, brakes, and so on. In addition, there is a large screen to show visitors the car controlled by the frame in a long-distance. The big difference is that this simulation controls a real vehicle, actually driving on a real road.
Moreover, long-distance driving with 5G network is based on the high-bandwidth and low-latency transmission characteristics of the 5G network to safely achieve the remote operation and control of the vehicle.

Take care of health with a long distance
There is an exhibition booth for long-distance health care. Since 5G increases the speed of the network by a factor of 10 or 20 times, it is possible to take care of our health over a long distance.
The experience of blood pressure in long-distance
The machine for blood pressure measuring connects to a remote doctor who you can see over a display screen. The blood pressure information will be sent to the doctor to check the patient’s physical condition. After that, the doctor will send back the result or talk to patients through video calls.
This is convenient for those patients who cannot go out for health care, or who live in remote areas that don’t have their own doctors.
